Chess in Africa - Summary

I'll wrap up the Chess in Africa series with a summary of previous posts.

And I'll reserve the right to return to the subject later. There's a lot left to be said here.

Hi Mark! First thanks for adding my blog to your list of "blogs I follow". And secondly, I'd like to ask you if you know the chess calendar of activities of Morocco Chess Fed. I've been here in Morocco since January and have not seen anyone play OTB chess games here. I check their website and it didnt help at all, its in French. Thanks and I hope I can receive a reply from you.- http://philippinechesschronicles.blogspot.com

Great enquiry Mark. Lots of useful data from the past. Go on with that! I have tried to face seemingly easy challenge of covering past history of past African Team Championship.

I have been searching for more than 5 years, and still nothing. I have sent emails to 40+ African officials and member associations. No response. Nobody knows nothing.

Chess is part of All-Africa games these days, including blitz individual event and team competition, but that's just a 25+5 rapid . There used to be 2 or 3 standard time control African team championships but I cannot say anything more. If you find something, please let me know.
