Google Redirects on Chess.com

For the last week or so, Google has been displaying Chess.com, the no.1 entry on a search for 'chess', in a format that I've seen used elsewhere, but never for a chess site. The search results are shown in the following screenshot, where I've enlarged the Chess.com results to keep them readable.

The lower level entries are redirected through Google, e.g...

Against the Computer
http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.chess.com/play/computer.html...

...etc. Does this technique have a name? The key might be the '&usg=' parameter in the redirected URL, but I can't find it documented anywhere.

It seems to only be with the bigger sites (Yahoo, Dell, E-Bay, etc.).

I will look into this as well. Please post here if you get an answer before I do.

Thanks,
Kevin

Found this explanation in an article on http://www.jumpindesign.com/pages/articles/read-full-article.php?idArticle=2504

Google might add a menu of extra links to your search results. The extra links look nice and informative but Google creates them automatically so you can't control them.

There's nothing you can do to ensure the menu of extra links appears in your search results
, but here are some common sense ideas:

Grow your website
The more content you have in your website, and the more traffic that comes from search engines, the more useful it is have a menu of extra links. Grow your website with more content and more traffic so that Google will want to add an extra menu of links to your search results.

Make your website easy to navigate
Google has to find the extra links before it can add them to your search results. Make sure your website has a clear, simple and consistent navigation menu. If it's easy for people to find their way around your site, then it's easy for Google too.

Design a good sitemap
If Google decides to add a menu of extra links to your search results then make sure the links are sensible!

Design a good sitemap that organises your website in a logical manner. A good sitemap makes it easy for people to find what they're looking for and it also makes it easy for you to keep it up to date.
